Driescher y Wittjohann, S.A. (DRIWISA) is a mexican corporation, founded in 1969, established on its own premises in Naucalpan, a northwestern suburb within Mexico City's metropolitan area. Its manufacturing program comprises of medium voltage substations, (up to 38 kV) outdoor and indoor disconnector switches, both load-break and non load-break, grounding switches, current limiting fuses, and epoxic resin insulators for indoor use.

FRITZ DRIESCHER in Germany is a minority shareholder, providing technology, some parts and technical support to DRIWISA. Even if other reknown European and U.S. suppliers provide some key parts, several product families are already completely made in Mexico.
Since the beginning, DRIWISA has been able to maintain an excellent reputation within the Mexican market due to its high competitiveness based on quality, customer-oriented service, versatility to offer customized equipment and best delivery times.
Multinational corporations (substations manufacturers) such as Group Schneider, Siemens, General Electric, Cutler Hammer, ABB and Areva, among several local OEM's, switchgear and panel manufacturers in every country on the American Continent, are our main customers. To State-owned- utilities, like Comisión Federal de Electricidad and Petróleos Mexicanos, DRIWISA is also a well-known and reliable supplier.
Though the original designs only complied with IEC standards they have been modified along the years to meet ANSI requirements as well. All DRIWISA switches comply with IEC or ANSI standards, whichever is required.
Export activities began in 1985 and have increased considerably since then. Main destinations for DRIWISA products made in Mexico are the United States, Canada, Central and South America.
An average of 80 workers and employees represent the company's workforce, organized on a basis of productivity and efficiency, which results in a customer-oriented profile, high quality and fast response times.
Technical support and training to customers, distributors, representatives and final users has been dramatically expanded since 1993. Several courses, presentations, seminars and papers at conferences were held in the last years, together with participation at specific trade shows. Technical and commercial literature is available, both in Spanish and English, at this web site.

Due to enhanced products and a permanent cost-reduction and productivity-increase program, a better price profile and competitiveness were gained, thus expanding horizons for the company. Commercial partnership has been key to the success, and the local and overseas expansion plans foresee this scheme as a firm commitment.
